Let's Give This Thing a Try
Well, thanks to my dear old friend Beth and my incessent boredom, I am going to give this blog thing a try. I really enjoy reading hers, she cracks me up!A little bit of background on me, I am 35, married with four children, two sons 17 and 6 and two daughters 10 and 9. The six year old and 10 year old, I inherited when I married my wonderful husband in 98. Their mom died in 2003 and we have been raising them ever since...so they are my kids. I teach special ed, preschool aged children with multiple disabilities and I absolutely love it. I got my Masters Degree in Education in Aug of 04 and am now going back to my second Master's degree in Administration and Supervision with an add on certification for Special Education Supervisor and Early Intervention. Yes, I am insane and freely admit it.
Well about a month ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have bilateral mastectomies. It has been quite a recovery period. Well, since I have had surgery and lying around trying to get my strength back, I have become so bored. It is so unusual for me to have absolutely nothing to do. I have gone to Walmart about 5 times in the last 3 days. My checkbook is not going to survive this recovery.
I usually have homework or plenty of studying to do, lesson plans to type up or work to do. Now I feel absolutely worthless.
I am trying to get ready to redo my baby's room (okay, she is about to be 10 but she will always be my baby). She lives like a pig, really and I don't know why I am going to put so much money, time and energy into something I know she will just clutter and destroy, but I want her to have a room that is chic and funky.
I have been learning to sew and so I went and got some funky fabric and have been making her pillows. I thought this would take a week or two to do, but I finished it in one day so today I made my sweet babies (my 3 mini dachshunds) some comfy pillows too. They are so sweet. Sampson is 9 months old, and Duke and D'Lyla are 7 weeks. We went to get only D'Lyla as a "girlfriend" for Sampson so we can have puppies and my darlin' husband fell in love with an odd looking pup- it has wiry long hair to it. The pup took right to him and wouldn't leave his side, so needless to say, we left with both.....
Well, I really need to get supper going. I'm thinking beef stirfry and rice and a salad. Sounds yummy...
