I Have the Crud!

If you don't have any idea what the crud it, it is that yucky feeling you have when you have a sinus infection, mostly brought on from dying in this summer heat then coming in to an airconditioned home or office and sleeping in arctic temps with a fan right at my head. The itchy, watery, heavy eyes, the headache and the overall ucky feeling. That is the CRUD and it plagues me quite regularly.

I try not to let it stop me, so I keep trugging along. This weekend was a busy one, as if I ever have a weekend that is not full of nonstop chaos. SR went to her dad's Friday evening and the rest of us headed over to Lowe's to pick up a few Crape Myrtle trees and some stuff for the deck and dogs. My life and money for that matter has literally gone to the dogs. We are up to a total of eight now, four males and four females. The newest members of our family are a red named Shontelle (an older Dachshund given to us), a beautiful precious blue and tan we named "Floyd's (Bleu) Bayou" and a black and tan named Floyd's Rockin' "Diesel". They are all sweet except for Miss Shonnie. She is older and I guess more stubborn and set in her ways and thinks she rules the roost. I'm sorry sister, when you have to share the roost with 7 others, nobody rules.

Anyhow, back to the weekend. After we got home, my DH had to go out and work a while to try to catch the thief that broke into J and B's truck last week and did major damage as well as took their stuff. He didn't get in until around 2am so I stayed up waiting on him, trying to organize my school stuff and set up a binder with the dog info so I can keep up with vet visits, shots, birth dates, registrations, etc. This breeding stuff takes a lot of effort, time and money, but I think it is going to be great. I have decided to take all the money from puppies and put in a college fund for the kids. I figure that will at least get a little nest egg started.

Saturday was full of cleaning house and paying bills. This place was so nasty that I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floor. I hope no one has looked down for a while, they would have got a big eye full of nothing but filth. Ughhhh! So I moved stuff around and rearranged and cleaned and organized and worked and worked. DH got the kids' computers set up and now they are ready to roll. Don't worry, we have talked and discussed and stressed safety using the web and email till we are sick of hearing ourselves. We are also doing "Take Charge" offered by Cox Cable.

Sunday was a trip back to Lowe's to take back some stuff and look for a doggie house. Then while I was gone to take SR back, DH took the new boat out for a ride and he says it will fly. He went to the river and I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and let down my guard and go. Mind you, the last time I stepped foot at the river, I ended up almost dead and paralyzed for two weeks. That was 14 years ago and I haven't been back since. Wrapping your body around a tree several times at 70 miles an hour being thrown from a intertube was not a pretty site or feeling. I dont' want to pass along my fear to my kids so I am going to conquer it. I love riding in the boat, I just am a little gun shy.

Well, I just got back from going to pick up SR from her dad's- he didn't bring the new girlfriend this time. I wanted to see what she looked like.....SR says she is nice and has good taste. I am glad he has found somebody, he's a great guy, just not a great guy for me. Well, I think the crud has gotten the best of me for tonight, I'm heading off to bed. I get my students tomorrow- it's their first day. I can't wait to see them, I miss them over the summer. We'll be working our buns off and I'm sure HB will be starving to death- she's 7 years old and the size of a 3 month old and wears 18mos clothing but can eat me under the table. The girl is a bottomless pit and she'll be ready to EAT tomorrow. God truly blessed me with this job, these kids are little angels....
