I'm Back

Boy, was it ever so wonderful to be back at home and in my own bed. I had been gone to Baton Rouge for a Pre Kindergarten Conference most of last week. It was nice to get away and stay in a hotel with no chores, no cooking, no cleaning but I really missed home, my hubby and my kids, believe it or not. Of course, the moment I walked back in the door, I was secretly wishing it had lasted a couple more days....haha!

The kids must have ate nothing but Ramen noodles, cause DH had laid out some deer meat so I could cook the moment I walked in the door. They all acted like they were starving. I also secretly had a moment of pleasure knowing that they missed me and that the household isn't the same without me.

I did backslide on my diet while I was away, but it is a little difficult to have a say so when 4 of the 6 meals I had down there were catered. Of course, wouldn't you guess that the main entree of both lunches was......C H I C K E N!!! Were they trying to kill me? And you would think that going 60 miles from the Gulf that they would have some good ole' crawdads...but oh no, they weren't in season. Now they have them in our little podunk town for a whopping $4.64 per pound. I admit, I wanted some so bad that I got 1 pound last weekend. Once they go down to where I can actually eat some without going broke, it will be my Friday night ritual. Bring em on!!!!!

I start back to grad school tonight. Actually classes started last week but since I was gone to the conference, I'm getting a late start. I have class from 5-8 on Mon, Tue and Thur nights. I'm hoping that the Tuesday one doesn't last too long because I have to see American Idol. Last year, I messed myself up by scheduling classes on Tuesday and wednesday. I purposely scheduled around those nights this semester but they changed one of the dates on me. We'll see if it is an every tuesday night thing or not. If not, I may have to invest in Tivo or something. I gotta have my AI fix.

I am so sleepy that I just can't keep my eyes open. Yesterday, we went to church, went to buy groceries (though we had to put it on a freakin credit card cause I don't get paid till the 27th and but its been 41 days since I have had a paycheck and a short one at that) and it took 3 hours to go buy them, then another 1 1/2 hours to unload and put up. It is a chore that I absolutely hate! Good thing we only do it once a month. I couldn't handle it more than that.

Then I had to balance the checkbook (another chore I absolutely hate the outcome of...haha) and then did lesson plans till 1am this morning. My alarm went off at 6am, I got up at 7:15. Needless to say, I didn't get my coffee, I was half asleep and grumpy when I clocked in. I won't get home til almost 9pm so I am just trying to keep awake and make it through the day. I need a Full Throttle- them things are really good and give me good energy.

Off to work I go- it seems my girls do not want to take a nap. Five out of 5 are awake and looking at me like- what is your problem... we're not sleepy, get us out of this bed. Now, if someone gave me a waterbed, bunches of soft pillows and soft blankets, they wouldn't get me awake. They just dont know how good they have it.
