And the American Idol Gold goes to.....

Okay, in the spirit of the Olympics, I will be awarding the Gold, Silver and Bronze for last night's AI girls' performances:

Bronze: Mandisa- I really like her and I think that America will also. Her "thing" with Simon and her getting Simon to apologize to her definitely will score her points with the public. I was a bit bewildered by her choice of attire. Just strange. She almost looked like she was about to fly away.

Silver: Katharyn McPhee- I really, really like this girl. She can sing and she has everything going for her. She is definitely a source to be reckoned with. I agree with Marybeth that she will be one of the final two.

Gold- Paris Bennett- The reason she gets the gold for last night is because she is the only one that went out there and risked everything! She threw it all out there and did anyone else hear a tinge of Peggy Scott Adams in that voice. She has the blood lines. If she brings it all the time like she brought it last night- the other girls better watch out!

But what is up with her whiny speaking voice? It drives me insane! But when she opens her mouth to sing, its like another person takes over! She will be one to beat also.

Now for the cheers and jeers.

Cheers to all the ladies for looking nice and having no wardrobe malfunctions. We have some really beautiful girls this year but unfortunately, they don't sing as beautiful as they look (Kelly Pickler, Becky ODonohue, Heather Cox.

Cheers to Paris, Mandisa and to Katharyn for not singing slow dull songs that bore you to death.

Cheers to Simon- he wasn't as nasty as usual. I actually found myself agreeing with him and disagreeing with Paula half the night. Oh my Lord!

Jeers to Paula- okay, they all didn't sound that good Paula, it is okay to give constructive criticism or they will never grow.

Jeers to all the girls that played it safe and bored us stiffless by those soft, slow ballads. Anyone can basically sing a ballad- it takes guts to go out there like Mandisa and Paris. Last night was the first night we heard them all at once- they should have BROUGHT IT!! Put themselves out there- Took a HUGE RISK- very few did that.

Jeers to AI for last night being the first night that any of us have ever heard of Melissa MgGhee. I do like her sultry voice.

Jeers, jeers and more jeers to Brenna Gethers. Can someone just take us all out of our misery now. I truly think she is in this competition to make good tv. She said it the other night when they sent her through. "Let's make good tv!" She is another one of those "Fran Drescher girl- can't remember her name" from year before last. Did you see her striking a pose- she looked like she was trying to get a modeling career- kissing and flicking her head. UGH. She really is not worth me talking this much about her. I'm done on that.

Cheers to Lisa Tucker- though she didn't make my top 3, she is my fourth choice. She just amazes me that she is just 16 years old and carries herself and can sing better than some of the oldest ones up there.

Cheers to Kelly Pickler- I just love this girl and her likeability, her preciousness and the fact that she has had so many adversities in life will take her far- but she better step it up with the vocals because she didn't show her true talent with that song.

Jeers to Stevie Scott for slaughtering that Josh Grobin song. OMG! I can't take much of that and someone needs to remind her that this is not OPERA or BROADWAY- Its AMERICAN IDOL people~~~~!!!!

Jeers to Ayla Brown for having this unsaid "I am a goddess" something- I just see it, especially when the judges are scoring her. Like she knows she's good and it doesn't matter what they say.

My predicted 6 that will be in the final 12: (no particular order)
1. Paris Bennett
2. Lisa Tucker
3. Katharine McPhee
4. Melissa McGhee
5. Kelly Pickler/Ayla Brown- according to who "wins over" america with their "All American Girl thing"- not because of raw talent.
6. Mandisa
