Attitude Adjustment
Hi all. I haven't posted in a few days, basically because I only had negative things to say and - well, I just figured you've read enough of my negativity for a while. I don't know what has gotten in to me, I am usually a happy go lucky, easy going person, with not a lot of negativity but here lately, it seems the big N is just seeping out of my pores. So a promise to myself and all of you out there- I will do better!
I had a pretty good weekend. Friday night, the hubby had a school dance to DJ and he took the two girls, so that left me a little alone time to do some thawing out (I was freezing all day and doing duty in the friggin cold rain only chilled my bones even more- some reading (okay, so I didn't really read, I skimmed sort of), homework (okay, I organized some things so I could get some homework done later) and then I just said to heck with it and curled up on the couch and attempted to stay awake till the crew got back home. I managed, but it was a huge feat!!!!
Then Saturday I went to Monroe to get my nails done and my dead ends cut off my hair. I drove all that way because the girl I used to use moved on me and I had been going to the ching chong people and they kept screwing up my nails. So I took a small little trip. I told her to trim the dead ends, but who knew them suckers went halfway up my head. I thought by the time she got through that I would have a mullet. It does look healthier but I could have done without the short layers.
Then we went back to Walmart- I really should own stock in Walmart. My mom does, I should have bought some when she got hers. As much money as I spend there, they should make me an honorary member of the board or something. My hubby is leaving in a couple of weeks to do security down south and will be living out of his truck for 4 whole days without leaving (mandated for his safety). So of course he had to get some stuff to be able to live. A refrigerator, an ice chest, some eating utensils, some paper goods, a grill, some pots and pans. We can't have him hungry- that boy likes to eat and a cold samich just isn't going to get it. He is leaving the comfort of his home for days at a time so he can pay off some of these bills- so he should have some of the comforts of home, right?
Then throughout the weekend, we watched some movies while I read articles and wrote critiques. We watched The Cave(C+), Just Like Heaven(B+), Red Eye , Kicking and Screaming(B+) and Lord of War(D+) (boring- don't bother).
Yesterday, we just hung around and did some laundry, cleaning, etc.
SPECIAL NOTE: My hubby just came by- he had to take N to the doctor because she projectile vomited all over the walls, floor, room, you name it, she got it at 12:30 this morning. Doc said her white blood cell is way up and sent her to the hospital for some chest xrays to rule out pneumonia. Our kids have been battling the flu and a stomach virus for a week now.
He also brought me a dozen pink roses, two huge balloons and a life size card. How sweet! He can really do it up, can't he. He would never forget- hell, he's a day early. My friends pick with me because he always has my gifts bought months in advance while most men are beating down the lines on Christmas eve or something. I am truly Blessed!!! I have a feeling I am going to see just how spoiled and blessed I am when he leaves for a couple of weeks....
Well, I am ready for my American Idol fix this week. I am so glad that the auditions are over and they are down to cutting and trimming to the last 12.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Oh and by the way, if you need a great laugh, just go by and check out my friend Lisa's blog. She is a hoot! Such interesting drama in her life!
