Living Like You Were Dying
Borrowed from the Southern Goddess:How would you live your life if you knew you were dying?
What are the really important things in life?
How do we stop life from keeping us from living?
I would quit school (not going to need that good job anymore) and spend as much time with my husband, kids, family and friends as I could. I would go visit all those long lost wonderful people who helped shape my life that I put off doing so much, mainly Beth and Tiffany.
I would go to Paris and Italy just to say I've been there.
I would quit dieting and eat whatever the heck I wanted.
I would quit saving and hording money, up my life insurance policy and write a will.
I would mend all the tattered relationships in my life and just enjoy what I have. I would make sure that my momma and daddy know that absolutely without a doubt that I love them and don't hold any resentment for the things they have done in the past 2 years.
Then I would sit and hold my kids and write them letters for their sweet sixteen birthdays, their prom, their wedding days, and all the big milestones that I will miss. I would also let them know that there are windows in heaven and I will be watching and loving them every second of every day.
Since I was hit with this "what if" not too long ago, I have really thought about this. Sorry for the book.
Now the "How do we stop life from keeping us living" is another blog all in itself. Got to run to Monroe but I will be back to tackle that thought provoking question.
Good one, B.
