American Idol- The Guys

Has anyone noticed that all these guys are either ugly as sin or geeky as hell??? Except for Mr. HOTTIE Himself- Ace Young

1. Patrick Hall- "Come to My Window"- not impressed- I don't think this was a good song choice for him.... I was much more impressed with this guy in Hollywood. It started out terrible but did end up a little better. And isn't Simon so blunt!!! He just kills me!

2.David Radford -This guy just reminds me of a Frank Sinatra/Rat Pack dude. He just seems way to young and green to be singing songs like "This Thing Called Love"- and was he trying to be a little Elvis or what? Again- not impressed. Have to go with Randy on this one also. He does look a bit like Harry Connick Jr. though, don't you think?

3. Bucky Covington "Simple Man" (As I am typing this, I haven't even heard him sing yet- but boy, this dude needs to have some serious grillz work. Maybe he needs to see Nelly's jeweler and get some bling bling. ) and what is with his voice? he is no Bo Bice- I tell you. Okay, this is starting out pretty good. Maybe if he just didn't talk and didn't smile, this guy could be good... He is like Paris, a totally different person when he sings than when he talks.

4. Will Makar- "baby face" - He was aw'ight as Randy says. He had a couple of little moves that were cute. He reminds me of somebody from off of the Partridge family. I can see the teenie boppers loving him. (Ah- Paula hit it- Bobby Brady!)

5. Sway Penala- He is a little cutie pie- and I think he will probably get better as the weeks get by- ooh- he just hit that high note! This was pretty good- I don't know that he should have sang something so high for the majority of the song- but apparently Paula and Randy thought it was really risky and the bomb!

6. Chris Daughtry- "Wanted Dead or Alive"- is he a Bon Jovi- why yes, I think he may could be. I really liked this performance. He looks much better without the distinct goatee. Rough 5'o'clock shadow with the bald head- hmm, I think he'll definitely make it through and probably make it down to the final 12.

7. Kevin Covais- how cute is this little dude. But what is up with this lisp? He is cute as a little button- did I mention this. Okay, his mouth movements bug me and are not that cute right now. He didn't sound terrible but it wasn't the best in the competition of the night so far- but he did nail that last part. He's just so darn cute! Scott was impressed and apparently so were Randy and Paula. Simon.... well- he was just Simon.

8. Gideon- why is he talking like he is reading- so phonemic like or something. Okay, this was pretty good- surprisingly- I was all set not to like this dude. This guy looks like a fro'd out Eddie Murphy- dont you see it?

9. Elliot Yamin- "If You Really Love Me"- Stevie Wonder- another dude in need of a good orthodontist- but I really liked his presentation and the song. That was pretty good. I think he'll be going right on to the final 12. did you hear what simon said???? HE SAID THAT POTENTIALLY HE WAS THE BEST MALE VOCALIST IN 5 SEASONS!!!!! WOW! What a compliment!

10. Bobby Bennett- GET OUT! Don't tell me he sang the Copa! He didn't! That was ... umm.. entertaining. I agree with Randy- not a good song choice for vocals but it was okay for entertainment value.

11. Ace Young- have I mentioned what a hottie this dude is? He is THE total package. And his smile is just invigorating. I just picture him in swim trunks on a surfboard in Hawaii or something. Although I would like to see his hair a little shorter. I thought he did really good- and how gutsy was it to do a George Michael song? It was definitely not his own- he was trying to sound too much like GM but he is the total package. He'll be at the top- I'll be votin # 11 tonight. Did I mention this dude is hot?

12. And last but not least- Mr. Taylor Hicks. I've liked this dude (I am beginning to sound like Randy calling everybody "dude") from the beginning. I happen to be a huge Joe Cocker fan and love his style of music. I think the salt and pepper hair thing isn't going to be a problem for this guy. I think he'll make it to the final 12 and be a source to be reckoned with. This guy is going to go far! Okay, so maybe not such a good song choice- I don't know if it was nerves at the beginning or what but he worked it out... he still should have gone with a Joe Cocker or a Ray Charles tune...

Okay, I do NOT think that the guys brought it like the girls did and I think the girls are going to outway the guys in talent this year.
