Amercan Idol- Narrowing it down to 6 girls...
Wow, as bored as I was last week with the girls, I was extremely entertained this week. Most of these girls rocked. There was a lot on the line- come Thursday, its on. The true competition starts. The top 12 (6 girls, 6 guys). Unfortunately, this means I have to start picking my favorite and with the exception of a few, I like most of them- alot and I hate to see some of them go. I get really excited to get to see some of these performers sing every week, then when they are gone- its like there is a void.I know, I am probably way too much into this- but this is these peoples lives, their futures, their careers....there is a lot on the line.
With that said, on to the competition:
Paris Bennett: she was good, started the show off with an upbeat song. I loved her outfit and her little dance moves. It was - as Randy says- aaaight
Lisa Tucker: she is very talented, the girl is good but she has yet to "bring it". She hasn't shown her true self and I would like to see her sing a Beyonce or an Aaliya song or something. I really believe this bland performance may have been her last on AI.
Melissa McGhee- one of "my gurlz"- I really love her raspy voice and boy did she rock it tonight. She even looked like one of the Heart girls. I enjoyed it and thought she did a great job.
Kinnick Sky- oh my God- what happened to her. Not that I like her much anyhow. She was all over that song and I bet Alicia Keys was cringing like hearing someone scrape nails down a blackboard.....ssssssscccccccrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeccccccchhhhhhhhh!!! Ugh. My prediction is that she gets the least amount of votes and she will be one of the two that goes home.
Katherine McPhee"ver"- I love the way this girl can sing- belt out anything- and do it so freakin effortlessly. Just a natural. She is also one of my gurlz and I enjoyed seeing her have so much fun and seeing this side of her.
Ayla Brown- boy has she come a long way from tryouts and looking like a tomboy. The capris didn't do much for me. I wonder if that is what I look like in heals and capris- having such long legs. Good grief she is tall. I like this girl too. I really think she did a great job on this song (wasn't this Kelly Clarkson's latest song?)- I like this girl too. She is so very talented in a raw way- for being 17 years old.
Mandesa- nuff said. She rocked the house. The girl is a bombshell on that microphone and I absolutely love the way that even though she is overweight and doesn't have that "hot" factor- she is sooooo comfortable in her skin and her self esteem exuberates through the screen. Oh I wish I had her self confidence! I predict that she will be one of the last two on stage. Unfortunately, Chris will take the prize, but she'll get a record deal and I'll be buying her CD.
Kellie Pickler- can this girl be any cuter. She is a riot and America loves her. Did you hear what Simon said? "I think I prefer you to last years winner". She does remind me an awful lot of Carrie and America fell in love with her innocence and sweetness. Kellie is beautiful and she nails every song. She is so honest "I been practicin..." Too cute. A real cutie patootie.
So, again, my predicitons are that Lisa and Kinnick will go home and the top six will be:
Paris
Melissa
Katharyn
Ayla
Mandesa
Kellie
Now, on to the boyz tomorrow night.
Adios amigos.
