Crawling Through Hump Day
It's Hump Day and my butt is totally dragging.Special note to that crazy bitch that almost ran right over me this morning: Get the boogers out of your eyes and wake up. I have a red car that I know you saw me turning this morning. I had the right of way you winch. Have I ever mentioned that on occasion I tend to get a tad bit of road rage. I have a time clock to punch. I don't have time for wrecks.
Okay, on with my everday sweet self.
I got through my midterms okay. It wasn't that bad, typical Dr. L fashion.
Of course some of my classmates who have never had him (this is my 4th class under him) didn't fare so well. Those essay test will kill a person. They will really bring you down in a heartbeat if you are expecting the usual multiple choice or matching.
I really should be doing so many more things at this moment than blogging but for the life of me, I just can't muster up the energy to do an IEP on a child that I have never laid eyes on at this moment. I also have some special ed litigation summaries to do and I just have the "I don't want to's" which seems to be my attitude as of late.
Yesterday I saw something that I have never seen so much of in my life time and I was a cop for 13 years before deciding to change careers and start teaching. Studmuffin and company made a huge bust that resulted in 60 pounds of marijuana and a half kilo of cocaine. They literally looked like bales of hay and white bricks. It was a big bust for them. I am so proud of Daddy! He is THE MAN! Okay, the other ones are too- it was a joint effort, but you know Momma has to be proud of her studmuffin.
The kids are on day 3 of their high stakes testing. It seems to be going pretty well. I've been feeding them fish and nuts and peanut butter, good hot breakfasts, doing brain exercises, sensory integration techniques, all that brain based research stuff. They think I am so weird, but gotta get that left brain and right brain working equally as hard. No brain slacking this week.
Still haven't sold the Motley Crue tickets, so it looks like I'll be getting my super duper ear plugs out and going to Jackson this weekend. I was really getting excited with the idea of spending some time at home and at my mommas. Two of my sisters are coming in from out of town and Izzy B and J man are coming too. I would much rather play with them. My dad isn't doing so hot and I think about him more and more these days. He is 83 but has never acted like it. If something happens to him, ya'll may as well bury me right along with him. I am definitely a daddy's girl.
Well, I have procrastinated long enough. I guess I will get off my arse and get busy. Happy Hump Day you guys!
I'll be back tomorrow for Thursday Thirteen.
