Wonderful Holiday
We had a wonderful holiday, which began with my good friend Marybeth (Ladybellagrace) and her daughter coming to visit. It was so good to have her and to be able to chat about old times and catch her up on all the latest with our classmates and of course, the gossip too! Her daughter is an absolute sweetheart and she and my LSUgirl hit it off right away and have began what i think will be a lasting friendship.Of course, since this was LSUgirls year to spend Christmas morning with her dad, we celebrated Christmas early and Santa came Saturday morning. Never try to put a trampoline together in the cold damp wind in total darkness at midnight. If our kids only knew what us parents go through to see that glimmer of joy in their eyes. So needless to say, after wrapping and putting together, we got in bed at 2:07am only to have our little angels wake us up at 4am. DH was not a happy camper and I don't think I actually got my eyes to focus for an hour or so. But they were ecstatic and it was great to see them happy.
After church, we spent the early part of the afternoon with my family at my sisters and then at my moms. We had way too much food, as usual, but it was delicious. Then we had our Ornament Swap, AKA as Dirty Santa. Then off to my mom's madhouse to open gifts. My sisters were so happy with the purses I made them. I think they were very touched that I took the time to make them something instead of going out and buying it.
Then off to the mother-in-laws. It has took us a while, but we've come a long way and I really enjoy visiting with them. We had deer, duck, squirrel, chicken, shrimp, and sausage gumbo. It was delicious! I must have that recipe- not that I would have a duck or squirrel to put in it.
I also got my baby- Sinna or "Shadow" as my DH fondly calls her- back. She had been at a fellow breeders mating with a beautiful blue mini dachshund. Anyhow, she hasn't left my side since. She is the sweetest thing I have ever seen in my life. She is so funny, she will back her behind up and lift her tail so I can put her diaper on. I don't know how I ended up with such a beautiful, loving, loyal sidekick, but I thank my lucky stars for her.
Well, I now must go clean up this tornado struck home. Surely there has to be a way to get order back....
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday. I wish all of you a happy, healthy, safe NEW YEAR! May all your dreams and wishes come true with the new approaching year.
