As Katrina hits the Big Easy

As I sit here at work flipping from the Weather Channel to Fox News, all I can do is squall like a baby. I just cannot imagine the devastation, the losses, and the needs of the people in this path. I have friends and family who live in New Orleans, Bay St. Louis Mississippi and in Gulf Shores Alabama. Some of those friends have evacuated, but their parents have stayed to weather out the storm in New Orleans, family members in MS have left also but had to leave their young daughter behind because she works in an area hospital and is in lockdown. My sister in Gulf Shores/Loxley area is stuck there worried to death.

I just find myself trying to imagine what I would do if I lost my home, my belongings, my memories, my job, my community. I just cant fathom the total devastation. I just pray that God will keep them safe and that even though many things can't be replaced, that all their needs will be met and that they will receive assistance to help with their losses.
