Making a smoothie!
Hey everybody- did you miss me? It's been 10 days since I have had a chance to blog and I have sure been missing it- it has become like my journal and my stress reliever. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. Mine was full of family, fellowship and food- too much food, come to think of it. We spent Saturday with my best friend's family- who after 23 years of friendship have become more like a real family to me. They are so fun to be around and make all of us feel like we are just one of the Laing's. I think Studmuffin feels more welcome and comfortable there then he does with his or my family. Well, I know he feels more comfortable there than MY family- but that is a whole nuther situation in itself. That night, we went to my mom's for a fish fry, then I came home and cooked, did the Easter Bunny and watched Passion of the Christ. Oh my gosh! I was so taken aback- I had never watched it and just to watch the beatings and crucifixion just made me sick to my stomach. And to think- HE endured all that for Me and you! It truly will make you think and look within yourself with a different perspective. If you haven't seen it, I urge you to take the 2 hours and 6 minutes with no distractions to watch it.Okay, so you may be wondering why my title today is "Making a Smoothie!"- well, you know I'm "Life in a Blender" and things have just been blending away and a little of this and a little of that and voila' - you have a smoothie! (okay, that was lame, but I could not think of a good title..) Sunday we went to church and had lunch at my mom's, came home, took a nap and watched Desperate Housewives- where Porter was offering fudgecicles to girls to see their vaginas! That was outrageous.
I am off for Spring Break! Yahoo! It is past noon and I am still in my house robe. I didn't sleep late- mind you- I guess that's my internal alarm clock or the fact that Studmuffin got up to go to work and I had no one left to snuggle with.
I so needed a break. I have tons to do since the semester is winding down in college- but I don't have to juggle work, paperwork and school work at the same time, so I can really focus this week on the things I have been procrastinating on.
I have a busy week ahead. I am going out of town for a doctor's visit tomorrow, have another doctor's appt Wed, I have my third and hopefully final surgery for the reconstruction on Thursday and recooperating on Friday. What a way to spend my week off huh! But since I don't have any sick days left, I don't loose pay this way.
We have been busy making summer plans. We are going to Branson for vacation and I am getting so excited. One of the main things I want to see is the Passion Play. I saw it when I was a kid and I want my children to experience it firsthand. We are also going to Silver Dollar City and some shows. There is so much to do that we can't choose which ones, but my hubby has already set aside one full day to visit the Bass Pro Shop and that night for Putt Putt golf. He is a puttputt fanatic- absolutely LOVES it! Its fun to watch him be kidlike when he is playing though. I don't get to see him smile or laugh or relaxed very often so I love vacation. He becomes a kid again.
I have decided I am going to walk at graduation this summer. I had said I wasn't, but since I worked so hard through all the adversities, etc. my major professor wants me to. I don't know if there is a specific reason, like a recognition or something or what, but he asked me to and I am. Its just a couple of hours out of my time- I already have the cap and gown, so its not that big of a deal.
I don't think there is much more going on in my world. Just counting down the days til summer break. The kids are so ready and I'm ready to be sipping cold ice tea out by the pool. Only 5 more weeks to go... Will it EVER get here?
